GATHERING MUSIC

“How Can I Keep from Singing”

Music by Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman and Ed Cash

There is an endless song
Echoes in my soul
I hear the music ring

And though the storms may come
I am holding on
To the rock I cling

How can I keep from singing Your praise
How can I ever say enough
How amazing is Your love
How can I keep from shouting Your name
I know I am loved by the King
And it makes my heart want to sing

I will lift my eyes
In the darkest night
For I know my Savior lives

And I will walk with You
Knowing You’ll see me through
And sing the songs You give

How can I keep from singing Your praise
How can I ever say enough
How amazing is Your love
How can I keep from shouting Your name
I know I am loved by the King
And it makes my heart want to sing

CALL TO WORSHIP

We come to hear the story of God’s faithfulness to past generations.
But we also look to the future as well as the past.
The God who was with our ancestors is with us as well.
Then we can go forward in hope. Whatever else fails, God remains faithful.
Nothing can separate us from the love of God! Praise be to God!

PRAISE SONG

“Every Praise” – Hezekiah Walker

Led by Hyerim Yu

Every praise is to our God.
Every word of worship with one accord
Every praise every praise is to our God

Sing hallelujah to our God
Glory hallelujah is due our God
Every praise every praise is to our God

Every praise is to our God.
Every word of worship with one accord
Every praise every praise is to our God.
Sing hallelujah to our God
Glory hallelujah is due our God
Every praise every praise is to our God.

SCRIPTURE – Luke 19:28, 37-40

Labenyimoh Patrick

28 After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
37 When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:
38 “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!”[a]
“Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”
40 “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.

PRAYER

SONG

“Leaning on the Everlasting Arms”

  1. What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
    leaning on the everlasting arms;
what a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
    leaning on the everlasting arms.
    Refrain:
    Leaning, leaning,
    safe and secure from all alarms;
    leaning, leaning,
    leaning on the everlasting arms.
  2. O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
    leaning on the everlasting arms;
O how bright the path grows from day to day,
    leaning on the everlasting arms.
    (Refrain)
  3. What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
    leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
    leaning on the everlasting arms.
    (Refrain)

SENDING FORTH SONG

“When I Think about the Lord” – Music by James Huey

When I Think about the Lord
How God saved me, how God raised me
How God filled me, with the Holy Ghost
How God healed me, to the uttermost

When I Think about the Lord
How God picked me up
and turned me around
How God set my feet on solid ground

It makes me wanna shout
Hallelujah
Thank you Jesus
Lord, your worthy, of all the glory,
and all the honor
And all the praise

It makes me wanna shout
Hallelujah
Thank you Jesus
Lord, your worthy, of all the glory,
and all the honor
And all the praise

When I Think about the Lord
How God saved me, how God raised me
How God filled me, with the Holy Ghost
How God healed me, to the uttermost

When I Think about the Lord
How God picked me up
and turned me around
How God set my feet on solid ground

It makes me wanna shout
Hallelujah
Thank you Jesus
Lord, your worthy, of all the glory,
and all the honor
And all the praise

It makes me wanna shout
Hallelujah
Thank you Jesus
Lord, your worthy, of all the glory,
and all the honor
And all the praise
