POEM

The Contamination of Love and Kindness
By Nelson Ngongo

Believe in the contamination of love, kindness, gentleness, and intelligence. Each time we perform an act of tenderness, affection, love, each time we enlighten someone by showing kindness or giving them the motivation needed, we change the evil nature of humanity a little bit.
The more others feel the positive emotions, affection, happiness, well-being, joy, peace, elevation, the less space there will be for the appearance, and expansion of the struggles of pain, destruction, and negative emotions. So believe in the contamination of love and help to change the world through love and kindness.

SCRIPTURE — 1 Corinthians 13:1-13

Felistas Mahachi, Lumiere Kapend, Esther Inuwa Nelson Ngongo.

Rutendo Felistas Mahachi (Shona) : v.1-3
Esther Inuwa- (Hausa): v.4-6
Lumiere Kapend (Swahili) : v.7-10
Nelson Ngongo (Lingala) v.11-13

13If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant 5or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. 7It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. 9For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; 10but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. 11When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. 12For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. 13And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.

SCRIPTURE – 1 John 4:7-8

Edison Toe

7 Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.

SONG

“Bind Us Together in Love” – Words/Music: Bob Gillman

Bind us together, Lord, Bind us together
With cords that cannot be broken.
Bind us together, Lord, Bind us together,
Lord, Bind us together with love.

There is only one God,
There is only one King;
There is only one Body,
That is why we sing:

Bind us together, Lord, Bind us together
With cords that cannot be broken.
Bind us together, Lord, Bind us together,
Lord, Bind us together with love.

CLOSING PRAYER

Jean-Marc Mutwale

Heavenly God, today you have taught us that love is above all things and that if we love one another, regardless of our differences, together we will be unshakable and unbreakable and our world will heal. Our world will heal from all the evils and brokenness that plague it, such as the decline of community, the rise of individualism, consumerism, falling of values, family breakdown, youth crime, drug and alcohol abuse, poverty, immigration injustices, environmental problems, crimes (or corruptions), wars and racism, etc. People live with fear and uncertainty every day. Fear of not being treated well, or not being sure we are loved despite our differences. We’ve seen what happened to a young girl in France, where a single mother sent her 8 year old daughter to school to receive an education, unfortunately the school she went becomes a place of horror and hell where she was disfigured. Yet there is no proof found for the quest for justice for the girl. We have seen the situation of a young woman in Canada who was injected with the wrong medication when she told the nurses and doctors that she was allergic to the medication before being injected but unfortunately she was injected anyway and died a few hours later. So have we heard in Canada, a 10-year-old girl was beaten to death by a 21-year-old man because she was different from him. Moreover, we hear the media talk about how Ukrainian refugees were able to escape and hide in Poland safely, but they never mentioned the story of the African immigrant students who were denied access to the Polish border and remained for days and days without shelter, without food, without water, until some went back to their houses and ended up being killed in the Russian bombing. Those who remained at the border, are dying from the intense cold, including a two-month-old baby. It is sad that while in the cold, these African immigrant students who were denied access to Poland were told by the Ukrainian army to go fight in a war that is not theirs, perhaps because they are African and their lives do not matter. It is unfortunate that all these injustices and many more are never reported in the news media, and even when they do, it’s a selected few, mostly available on videos on YouTube.
God, in the midst of all these ruptures, one thing we know is that we are all created in your own image and we are all equal. May you teach us to love one another as you love us unconditionally, no matter who we are or what we do. May your love, God, guide us in our lives, and in the path of justice, now and forever. Amen!!!
