Pray

Good and Loving God,
As we finish the first month of the Fall 2026 semester, we lay down our busy minds and step into Your presence. In every part of our studies, research, and daily lives, we confess that Your grace surrounds and protects us, even when we don’t realize it.
Lord, we trust that You have placed us here at Drew for a purpose. Guide all Drew students so we can carry out our studies alongside our fellow students, professors, and neighbors, growing together as a community. In moments of loneliness in our studies, remind us that we are not walking this path alone but together, confessing that You are a waymaker for us. Be with us this week so we can truly feel the joy of learning and coming to know You through fellowship and encouragement.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Meditate

When a person comes,
it is, in truth, a tremendous thing.
For he comes
with his past,
his present,
and
his future.
Because a person’s whole life comes along.
A heart that is fragile—
and thus might have broken before—
is coming—
could the wind, perhaps, unfurl its hidden folds?
If my heart could imitate such a wind,
it would surely become a warm welcome.
