Today is our last Pause & Pray for the semester. We hope you find some time in the midst of final classes, readings, papers, exams, and assignments to nurture body and spirit.
Creator of all things,
true Source of wisdom,
lofty origin of all being,
graciously let a ray of Your brilliance
enter into the cloudiness of my understanding
and take from me an obscurity of ignorance.
Give me a sharp sense of understanding,
a retentive memory,
and the ability to grasp things correctly and fundamentally.
Grant me the talent of being exact in my explanations,
and the ability to express myself with thoroughness and charm.
Point out the beginning,
direct the progress,
and help in completion;
through Christ our Lord.
(Adapted from Thomas Aquinas)
O Wisdom, coming forth from the mouth of the Most High,
reaching from one end to the other,
mightily and sweetly ordering all things:
Come and teach us the way of prudence.
(Great O Antiphons, 6th century)
