OPENING SONG – “Open the Eyes of Heart”
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You
To see You high and lifted up
Shinin’ in the light of Your glory
Pour out Your power and love
As we sing holy, holy, holy
Holy Holy Holy x3
I want to see you
CALL TO WORSHIP
Joo Ahn Kim
When no life existed,
God caused the mist to rise up
from the earth to water
the whole face of the ground
and there was life.
When death covered the earth and despair was stronger than life,
Jesus brought hope through his death on the cross and there was life.
When humans rely on
their own might,
and injustice ruins the whole creation,
the Spirit of God leads us in the way of righteousness and there will be life.
OUR PRAYER
Ye-Eun Kim
Pyoung-Gang Kim
L1: Behold the generosity
of God’s indiscriminate care for
people of all races, cultures and faiths.
L2: We pray for the healing of the nations in Asia and beyond.
All: We pray for your healing, O God.
L1: Listen to the heartbeat of the people; listen to the heartbeat of the earth.
L2: We pray for justice for
all God’s creatures;
we yearn for the reign of God on earth.
All: We pray for your justice, O God.
L1: Hear the cries of those crushed
by division and war; hear the petitions of
the violated and oppressed.
L2: We pray that hardened hearts might soften
to beat again; that clenched fists might open
to love again.
All: We pray for your peace, O God.
L1: Accompanying God, we see you in the tears and moans of girls and women raped, raped again and also gang-raped, and of whose lives are broken beyond repair; in the wailing and mourning of mothers, wives, and children who have lost their sons, husbands, and fathers to mindless violence in the name of God; or for the greed of a few for power and money;
in the sighs of the violated, displaced and silenced Dalits, Indigenous Peoples, linguistic and ethnic minority communities; in the distress and disappointment in the eyes of millions of children who are forced to work, work hard and in hazardous industries; in the pain and anguish of those who are forced to eke out a living in faraway places and of the families that they leave behind.
L2: Empowering God, we see you in the resilience, resistance, and creativity of the weary and heavy laden, the crushed lives, and broken relationships. Transform our greed to consume into a thirst to share;
confront our collective insanity that thrives on abuse of nature and people, and wash us clean of carelessness and callousness. God of our life and all life, sanctify the earth and all her people. Hear our cries. Grant us hope.
All: We all pray this
in the name of Jesus, our friend,
Amen.
SCRIPTURE READING – Ephesians 1:18-23, NRSV
Dae-Kyoung Ko
18so that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints, 19and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power for us who believe, according to the working of his great power. 20God put this power to work in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the age to come. 22And he has put all things under his feet and has made him the head over all things for the church, 23which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

CLOSING SONG – “How Great It Our God”
The splendor of the King
Clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice
All the earth rejoice
God wraps Godself in light
And darkness tries to hide
And trembles at God’s voice
And trembles at God’s voice
How great is our God Sing with me
How great is our God
And all will see how great
How great is our God
And age to age God stands
And time is in God’s hands
Beginning and the End
Beginning and the End
The Godhead three in one
Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb
How great is our God Sing with me
How great is our God
And all will see how great
How great is our God
Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God
Then sings my soul,
My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art,
How great Thou art.
