Every Wednesday, we invite you to pause and pray with us. Today’s Pause & Pray is written and curated by Dohee Woo.

Read
Psalm 46:1-10 (NRSVUE)
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. … God makes wars cease to the end of the earth; God breaks the bow and shatters the spear; God burns the shields with fire. “Be still, and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations; I am exalted in the earth.”
Pray
Loving God,
With broken hearts we come before You.
We hold the grief of those who have lost their homes,
the ache of those who have buried their loved ones,
the hunger of those who do not know where their next meal will come from,
the trembling of those who live surrounded by fear and violence.
Be a fortress for those who cannot run.
Be a shield for those who bring healing and hope.
Let the innocent no longer suffer because of the choices of the powerful.
Where the earth is scarred and the air is thick with fear, plant Your peace. When despair whispers to our hearts, hold us steady.
Teach us to remain to stand with the suffering, to pray without ceasing, to hope in Your saving love even now.
In this dark and troubled age, let Your light rise.
In the name of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, we pray.
Amen.
