Every Wednesday we invite you to pause and pray with us. Today’s Pause & Pray was written and curated by Dobyo Amos.
Pray:
‘For Grace to bear the Fruits of the Holy Spirit for your well-being and of all God’s creation.’
O Lord, you are our strength when we are weak and your grace is our treasure.
In a world that is Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous (VUCA),
you invite us to bear the fruits of the spirit – of “love, joy, peace, patience,
Kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.” This is not only
for our own well-being but also for the well-being of all that you have created.
Abba, we do not have the power of our own to execute them and so I pray for:
Your grace to love for all of your creation to be loved;
Your grace to share joy for your creation not to live in misery;
Your grace to live in peace for your creation to be conflict-free;
Your grace to be kind, generous, faithful and gentle for your creation to be cared for with goodness;
Give us your grace to have self-control so we can handle matters with temperance.
I believe you have heard and have answered our prayers through Jesus Chirst, our source of strength, Amen.
(Prayer generated from Galatians 5:22-23; Matthew 7:16 NRSVue)
Meditate:
Matthew 7: 17 says “In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.”
Now, which of the trees can you identify with?
The good tree for good fruit or the bad tree for bad fruit?
