Every Wednesday we invite you to Pause & Pray with us. Today’s Pause & Pray is written/curated by Cody Beckett.

Pray

Holy God,
We come before You, hoping and praying for a brighter future. And yet, as the semester picks up, we recognize that we are weary, that we are tired, and that we could use Your loving rest. So, Lord, fill us with Your grace and help us to recognize that we were not created to be machines, but rather, that we are to rest. Help us to remember that our worth is never to be found in our productivity, but in how much love You have for us. May we fill others with Your love and grace, and may we remember that we are not meant to pour from an empty cup. May we remember that it is only through resting that we are able to be instruments of your love and peace. Grant us peace and grant us rest, O Lord. May it be so.
Amen.

Meditate

“Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30, NRSVUE)

How can you take care of yourself this week, reminding yourself that you are God’s beloved creation?
