Leader: We are not alone, we live in God’s world.
All: We believe in God: who has created and is creating,
Leader:who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh,
All: to reconcile and make new,
Leader:who works in us and others by the Spirit.
All: We trust in God.
Leader:We are called to be the Church:
All: to celebrate God’s presence,
Leader:to live with respect in Creation,
All: to love and serve others,
Leader: to seek justice and resist evil,
All: to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.
Leader: In life, in death, in life beyond death,
All: God is with us.

Prayer of the Day
(Adapted from The Book of Common Prayer)
Roeline Ramirez
Let us pray for the Church and for the world.
Grant, almighty God,
that all who confess your name may be united in your truth,
live together in your love, and reveal your glory in the world.
Silent prayer.
God, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Guide the people of this land, and of all the nations,
in the ways of justice and peace;
that we may honor and serve one another.
Silent prayer.
God, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Give us all a reverence for the earth as your own creation,
that we may use its resources rightly
in the service of others and to your honor and glory.
Silent prayer.
God, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Bless all whose lives are closely linked with ours,
and grant that we may serve Christ in them,
and love one another as Christ loves us.
Silent prayer.
God, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Comfort and heal all those who suffer in body, mind, or spirit;
give them courage and hope in their troubles,
and bring them the joy of your salvation.
Silent prayer.
God, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We commend to your mercy all who have died,
that your hope for them may be fulfilled;
and we pray that we may share with all your saints
in your eternal kin-dom.
Silent prayer.
God, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We offer these prayers through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Scripture Reading
David Gaitán
Luke 18:18-23
18 A certain ruler asked him, ‘Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?’ 19 Jesus said to him, ‘Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone. 20 You know the commandments: “You shall not commit adultery; You shall not murder; You shall not steal; You shall not bear false witness; Honor your father and mother.” ’ 21 He replied, ‘I have kept all these since my youth.’ 22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, ‘There is still one thing lacking. Sell all that you own and distribute the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.’ 23 But when he heard this, he became sad; for he was very rich.
Leader: The word of God for the people of God.
All: Thanks be to God.
